Reading/Clinic Band:
You are cordially invited to participate in the NYSSMC Reading Band for three of our sessions during the 2010 NYS Summer Music Conference: Sunday, August 8th: The first session (1:00-3:00 PM) will be our Reading Band session for new band compositions, conducted by Mrs. Mindy Poupore. The second session (3:30-5:00) will be an elementary jazz reading session led by Mr. Matt Cremisio. Monday, August 9th: A reading session focusing on woodwind small ensembles from the NYSSMA Manual, please bring a flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, or horn to experience reading these pieces. Conference registrants who play all three sessions will be eligible to receive a rebate of one-third the registration fee. Be sure to indicate your interest in playing in the Reading/Clinic Band on your conference registration form. Please bring a flute and/or piccolo, and a tuba mouthpiece for our flute and tuba sessions.
