NYSBDA @ the New York State Summer Music Conference (NYSSMC)

On behalf of NYSBDA and the NY State Chapter of IAJE, we cordially invite you to attend the New York State Summer Music Conference at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Albany, NY, August 21-23, 2011. We have assembled a variety of events including 7 educational band clinics, 3 reading band sessions, and the Directors' Jazz Band Concert. The Keynote Addresss will be presented by Dr. John Benham and the NYSSMA Manual Library will be available for your perusal, along with the usual Music Exhibitors. NYSSMC will be an event where you can network and recharge your batteries before the beginning of the new school year. Reading/Clinic Band:
Please bring your instruments and play some of the new music that will be available from a variety of publishers at the conference. There will be three reading sessions: The first session (Sunday 8/21 @ 1:00-3:00 PM) will include music for beginning bands through Level III. The second session (Sunday 8/21 @ 2:30-3:45 PM) will include music for levels IV-VI. The third session (Sunday @ 4:00-5:15 PM will focus on Brass and Woodwind Quintet music from the manual and other recommended selections. Be sure to indicate your interest in playing in the Reading/Clinic Band or Directors' Jazz Ensemble on your conference registration form.
