NYSBDA Commission Project (2011)

NYSBDA is proud to announce that our next commission will come from Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, Michael Colgrass. As our aim is to be accessible to as many schools in New York State as possible, NYSBDA has requested a six-minute piece, “playable by strong middle school bands and high school bands of average ability.” The piece will be performed at our 30th anniversary Symposium in March of 2011. NYSBDA members have the opportunity to either make an individual donation or to have their school join the consortium for this exciting project. NYSSMC 2010
