NYSBDA Executive Board Meeting

The NYSBDA Executive Board will next meet on December 3, 2010 at the Rochester Radisson Riverside Hotel in the Keating Room from 1- 4:00 p.m.

NYSSMA Winter Conference 2010

Dr. Joel Ratner of the Brentwood C.S.D. and Dr. Mark Fonder and the Concert Band from Ithaca College will give presentations sponsored by NYSBDA at the 2010 Winter Conference in Rochester. For more information, click on the Winter Conference link at the left.

NYSBDA Commission Project (2011)

NYSBDA is proud to announce that our next commission will come from Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, Michael Colgrass. As our aim is to be accessible to as many schools in New York State as possible, NYSBDA has requested a six-minute piece, “playable by strong middle school bands and high school bands of average ability.” The piece will be performed at our 30th anniversary Symposium in March of 2011. NYSBDA members have the opportunity to either make an individual donation or to have their school join the consortium for this exciting project.
