Christine M. Zacher

Christine Zacher is a band director in the Northport-E. Northport school district on Long Island.   The Northport-E. Northport music department has been nationally recognized as one of MENC's "100 Best Communities for Music Education", and has received the NYSSMA President's Citation.   As a hornist, Christine has performed with numerous ensembles, including the Atlantic Wind Symphony, Long Island Symphonic Winds, Sound Symphony Orchestra, Nassau Pops, Harbour Wind Quintet, and are community bands.   Originally from Wisconsin, Christine received her bachelor's degree in Music Education from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, Appleton, WI, and her Master's degree from the Aaron Copland School at Queens College.   Christine maintains a private horn studio in Northport, NY.

Clinic: HORN 101, Practical Tips for Band Directors and Non-Hornists

This clinic will cover the basics of the horn from recognizing the F/Bb horns, to fingerings, playing and right hand position.   The clinic will also cover starting a beginner, literature and resources, and maintaining a strong horn section.
