Jeff King is currently Director of the Duncanville High School Honors Band and Jazz Band. Prior to this, he directed the Duncanville Freshmen Band and Byrd Middle School Band. While at Byrd, Mr. King's bands advanced to the Texas Honor Band finals four times. In Duncanville, his bands were consistent Best in Class winners and earned superior ratings in concert and sight-reading every year. Mr. King is an active clinician and adjudicator across the United States, Canada, and the Pacific Rim. He received a Bachelor of Music Education degree at Baldwin-Wallace College and a Master of Trumpet Performance degree from Southern Methodist University. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, National Band Association, International Association of Jazz Educators, and Phi Beta Mu.

Clinic: Setting the Tone for Your Band
Through the use of exercises and other daily drills, Jeff King will show how to improve the overall performance level of your concert band. Areas that will be discussed in this clinic will be: developing tone, articulation, technique, and improving agility & flexibility. In addition, exercises will be demonstrated to show how students can improve their individual listening skills and ultimately how these listening skills can be incorporated into an ensemble setting.
