Pim Liebmann has been a band director for 15 years. He has been Mill’s 7-8 Band Director for 6 years. Prior to that he directed the Heim Middle School 5-6 Bands also from Williamsville. Under his direction the Heim Middle School 5-6 Gray Band performed at the 1996 NYSBDA Symposium. The first five years of Mr. Liebmann’s career was at Cairo-Durham in the northern Catskills teaching Elementary Band and then Jr. Sr. High School Bands.
Mr. Liebmann holds both a bachelors and masters degree from The College of St. Rose in Albany, New York. He is a past member of the NYSBDA executive board and past chairman of the NYSBDA High School Honor Band. Mr. Liebmann has been a guest conductor for elementary and middle school / Jr. High All County Bands in Erie, Greene Orange, Oswego, and Sullivan counties as well as the Albany area Suburban Council. As a trombonist Mr. Liebmann has performed in the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra, Erie Co. Wind Ensemble, American Legion Band of the Tonawandas Post 264 and various freelance jazz and classical groups in the Buffalo and Albany areas.
The Mill Concert Winds has consistently earned gold and gold with distinction ratings at NYSSMA Major Organization Festivals and follows the tradition of excellence of all the Williamsville Bands. Included in this is a 1995 NYSBDA Symposium appearance with their previous director Mr. Richard Sowinski.
