C.W. POST JAZZ ENSEMBLE

Chris Culver is the Director of Jazz Studies at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. He has appeared as guest trombone soloist, clinician, and adjudicator at many high school and college jazz festivals throughout the United States and Canada. He is also on the staff of adjudicators for Heritage Jazz Festivals.

Recent trombone experience includes performances and/or recording sessions with Richie Iacona, Sam Arlen, Mike Carubia's Smart Chart demo recording (featuring many members of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra), Gerry Niewood, Andy Fusco, Ted Rosenthal, Jerry Weldon, Tony Tedesco, Bob Mintzer, Peter Erskine, Glen Guidon, and Al Cardillo. Culver has also been performed and arranged and composed music for the Matt Miller Big Band, the Mike Lewis Big Band, the Nassau-Suffolk County High School Jazz Ensemble, the University of Northern Colorado Lab Band I, the Jazz Knights

Dr. Culver's compositions have been performed and recorded by college and professional ensembles throughout North America and Europe. His arrangements and original compositions are published by The International Trombone Association manuscript Press, Kagarice Brass Editions and The University of Northern Colorado Jazz Press.
