The Liverpool High School Concert Band

Joseph L. Filio, Jr. earned his Bachelors in Music Education from Syracuse University in 1987. Moreover, in 1993, he earned his Masters in Music Education and Conducting from the University of Massachusetts in which he studied with Malcolm W. Rowell, Jr.

In the past, he has been employed by the Fabius Pompey and East Syracuse Minoa School Districts. For the last thirteen years, Mr. Filio has worked for the Liverpool Central School District. At Liverpool, his duties include directing the Concert Ensemble which performed at the 2002 Bands of America National Concert Festival held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Also, he teaches instrumental lessons, music theory and has served as Music Department Chair. Mr. Filio has acted as Director and Assistant Director for the nationally recognized "Warrior" Marching Band and Winter Guard.

Mr. Filio has conducted All County Bands throughout New York State and has served as clinician for the New York State School Music Association and the New York State Band Directors Association. He is currently Past President of the New York State Field Band Conference and currently serves on the New York State Band Directors Association Executive Board.
